9.7-inch iPad Pro vs Microsoft Surface Pro 4 review, specs comparison update: Apple tablet is winning the competition?

Words in the street suggest that the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro is beating the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 in the battle between the best tablets in the market today.

According to a report by Fox News, the battle between the two impressive devices was expected and it appears that the tablet from the Cupertino-based company is gaining some points ahead of the competition.

"Apple is making quick gains on Microsoft with its iPad Pro, according to a major market research firm...In a report titled 'Apple Beats Microsoft at Their Own Game,' IDC says that the iPad Pro has already taken an impressive lead in the market for detachables — tablets that effectively become laptops by connecting a separate, detached keyboard."

The report added that the reason why Apple's 9.7-inch iPad Pro is winning is because the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is being priced higher than the Apple device.

Currently, the iPad Pro is being priced at $799 for the 32 GB Wi-Fi-only variant. It's high-end model, which has Wi-Fi and cellular technology is being sold at a hefty $1,079. It also has 128 GB of internal storage capacity. Both variants run on the reliable A9X processor and sport a high-resolution Retina display system. Other accessories include an Apple Smart Keyboard and an Apple Pencil, which cost around $99. The Apple Smart Keyboard allows users to work on the tablet easily and it only cost around $169.

Apple has continually claimed that the current iPad Pro is a laptop replacement. However, David Pierce of Wired magazine said that the device is not a serious device to be considered as a laptop replacement.

"For those of us who still cling to laptops and desktops, the iPad Pro just doesn't feel like a serious machine for serious work," Pierce sad. "We need our keyboard shortcuts and our mice, our apps that work just how we like them. We need our accessories. A touch-first interface just doesn't feel right, and the iPad Pro can't overthrow our existing workflows and tools."

Nonetheless, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is winning the hearts of the consumers as it continues to receive better reviews compared to its 12.9-inch bigger brother.
