The "American Horror Story" series' official Facebook page has for its profile image a red number six on a field of black. The number is stylized with a question mark lodged in it. Now fans are wondering whether this is merely in reference to the upcoming sixth installment of the show. The central focus on it though begs speculations among fans, as there is nothing else in the black background besides the network logo of FX.

Avid viewers and fans conjecture that the producers are hinting at an Antichrist plot for "American Horror Story" season 6. Those who have scrupulously followed the series from its first run will no doubt remember that the last episode of "Murder House" featured the birth of the so-called Antichrist. Adding more weight to this speculation is the fact that the season in reference depicted the said Antichrist as a blonde little boy. The storyline has not been revisited since, and neither has it been appended.

With the premise that each season of the series is somehow related to the others, as show creator Ryan Murphy once pointed out, it would make perfect sense for the question-marked "6" to be some reference to this storyline. The biggest giveaway is really Murphy's earlier tip about children being involved in the new season's plot. All these clues tie in very well with the Antichrist theory. This of course has not been confirmed, although a lot of diehard fans think this may yet be the closest to the truth.

Other theories on the possible plot for "American Horror Story" season 6 are, to pick out a few, those involving an orphanage, a funeral home, and a summer camp. The theory regarding Slenderman has already been quashed by the series' producers as well as by certain sources said to be connected to the show.

"American Horror Story" season 6 will air starting Sept. 14 on FX.
