Users of Motorola Nexus 6 will be able to experience Android 7.1.1 Nougat soon. Google just announced that they will roll out the latest version of their OS to the device.

Owners of Motorola Nexus 6 got disappointed when Google did not release the anticipated Android 7.1.1 Nougat to their device. It was just this month when Android One series, Pixel and Nexus, received the update leaving the Motorola handset without any new update to perform.

"Unfortunately, we found a last minute bug that was specific to the Nexus 6, which has caused the delay of the 7.1.1 OTA rollout. We've since fixed the issue and will be rolling out an update in early January," said a Google representative in an interview with Android Police.

According to several reports, Google has to fix a bug seen in the device, which may affect its performance when installed with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The search engine giant has already done some fixes and so Motorola Nexus 6 is good to go.

Google announced that Android 7.1.1 Nougat will be released in the coming weeks as they just finished the testing of the operating system (OS). However, owners should be reminded that the 7.1.1 version may possibly the last update that the device will receive.

As per the new policy software of Google, they will only roll out new updates to their new OS to any devices that have been existing for more than two years. In fact, the LG Nexus 5 that was released in 2013 was not able to receive the Android 7.1.1 Nougat as it was considered outdated.

Those who are asking if their device is still eligible to receive the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update, check out the list below:
