The Apple Watch 2 is yet to be released but fans are already scouting for details on what the second generation wearable will come with. Lucky for them, the web is never short of rumors and leaks.

According to reports, the Apple Watch 2 will be making its debut in the next few months. There is no specific date yet but it cannot be denied anymore that the Cupertino-based tech giant will be having an updated version of their smartwatch. The sales for the original Apple Watch showed an impressive count so it's no wonder Apple is giving it a successor.

As to what sort of upgrades it will be making, reports detailed that the biggest change that will be made is the display technology. Apple incorporated an OLED panel into the predecessor. Some are expecting the same thing for the second wearable. However, rumors suggest that the OLED panel will be ditched and a Micro LED panel will take over.

The reason for the change up is that the Micro LED is believed to help increase battery life. It will also provide a richer and more vibrant color gamut with higher resolutions. On top of that, the device will be thinner compared to the original one. It's a welcome change for those who find the old design a tad bit bulky.

If Apple does decide to up their display game, fans may have to expect a price increase for the Watch 2 as the Micro LED is more expensive compared to the OLED panel. Other rumored specs of the device include a cellular data and a front-facing camera, allowing users to communicate with their family and friends through the smartwatch. There are also speculations indicating that the device will be equipped with GPS and will be waterproof and dustproof.

None of the details are official yet so it's best to take reports with a pinch of salt. The expected release date is sometime around September this year.
