Apple is preparing for their upcoming annual Worldwide Developers Conference or WWDC 2016, which is scheduled to happen in less than two weeks from now. There are many speculations that the Cupertino-based company may make the Apple Watch 2 official during the event. However, its release date has yet to be confirmed by the company and it has left fans on their heels as they hope for the device to come out this year.

According to a report by Apple Insider, Ming-Chi Kuo, a popular Apple analyst from KGI Securities, said that the second generation Apple Watch will mirror the design of the original iteration. However, the analyst mentioned that its internal specifications will be pretty impressive. Previous reports suggested that the Apple Watch 2 will be an independent device from the company's flagship smartphone, the iPhone. The current tech watch is totally dependent on iPhone in terms of its significant usage. The device has to be paired with the handset for it to make calls or send messages. Rumor has it that the new Apple Watch 2 will allow users to be able to make calls and send messages since it will already have a cellular feature.

Other features of the upcoming Apple smart watch include a much larger battery and an improve display system. There have been speculations suggesting that the device may come with a FaceTime camera, which allows users to do video calls. There are also rumors saying that it may come with its own Wi-Fi chip. If rumors prove to be true, the Apple Watch 2 will no longer need to be tethered to an iPhone for it to have Wi-Fi connections.

Meanwhile, there are reports all over the Internet suggesting that the Apple Watch 2 could be called as Apple Watch S once it hits the market.

Nonetheless, these reports have yet to be confirmed by the company. Until Apple provides solid details with regard to its development and release date, all rumors and speculations must be taken with a grain of salt.
