Asus fans who have their eyes on the new ZenFone 3 Deluxe are in for a treat as reports reveal that it will be the first device to carry Qualcomm's newest chipset.

According to Engadget, the Taiwanese technology company announced during its Taiwan and Hongkong launch event on Tuesday, July 12 that the device will be receiving a chipset upgrade. When Asus introduced the flagship at this year's Computex, they revealed that it will be getting a Snapdragon 820. However, it's just been confirmed that the ZenFone 3 Deluxe will have a variant that is equipped with the Snapdragon 821.

This basically means that it will be the first smartphone to feature the fast chipset. The Verge noted that it will provide a 10 percent increase in performance and will have a quad-core CPU that will run at 2.4GHz. The ZenFone 3 Deluxe will be a level higher than the power phones like Samsung's Galaxy S7, Xiaomi's Mi 5 and the HTC 10 which all carry Snapdragon 820.

While the 820 version of the Asus handset will have a starting price of $500, the 821 variant will cost $780. Its other detailed specs include an Adreno 530 GPU, a 6 GB DDR4 RAM and an internal storage space of up to 256 GB. For the Snapdragon 820-powered devices, it can be a 6 GB RAM and 64 GB DDR4 RAM or a 4 GB RAM with up to 256 GB of internal storage.

Reports indicate that the handset will have a 5.7-inch all-metal unibody chassis with a 1080p screen. It also features a Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. For its camera specs, it's been said to carry a 23-megapixel camera at the rear along with optical image stabilization and three technologies that can give a focus time of 0.03 seconds. Aside from that, a fingerprint scanner is also available.

Powering up the device is a 3,000mAh battery pack and it has a Quick Charge 3.0 feature which allows it to reach 60 percent within just 39 minutes.
