WWE 2K17 release date, characters news: Bill Goldberg revealed as pre-order bonus; character to feature two versions

Just a few months left until 2K Sport's professional wrestling game "WWE 2K17" hit store shelves. Fans are already excited to play especially since developer Visual Concepts has announced already the wrestler who will be joining as a pre-order bonus.

According to a report by IGN, two-time world champion Bill Goldberg will make his virtual return as he is revealed as the "WWE 2K17" pre-order bonus. A cinematic-style trailer has been released featuring the wrestling icon himself as well as his entrance music which fans can surely recognize once they see it.

WWE also got a chance to interview Goldberg, asking him about his thoughts on being the game's newest pre-order bonus character.

"As a father and an ex-wrestler, it's a dream come true," stated Goldberg. "To be able to come back and be included in 'WWE 2K17,' it's a huge honor," he added.

The 49-year-old pro wrestler also mentioned that he is honored to be included by 2K and WWE despite the long hiatus of his career. And with regards to sealing the deal, Goldberg revealed that his son played an important role in making his appearance in the game possible.

Goldberg rose to fame during his time in WCW which was from 1997 to 1998. It was in that time he went 173-0 in singles competition. He also garnered titles like the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship.

With that being said, fans will be pleased to know that Goldberg will be coming in two versions. Game Spot detailed that there will be two playable characters which are his WCW and WWE personas. Aside from the characters, those who pre-order the game will also be getting two playable arenas which are WCW Nitro and Halloween Havoc.

There are still no official gameplay details yet but "WWE 2K17" will be available in October for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
