Christian singer Carman Licciardello is now asking his fans for financial support for the release of his new album after undergoing surgery to remove a tumor on his shoulder.

"Made it through surgery," Carman wrote in a recent Facebook post. "Ok, so I knew the anesthesia was coming and was ready to count backwards from 10, but this time make it past 7 all the way to 1. However the sneaky Doctor said start at 1 and count to 100. Man, that threw me off so as I was regrouping to say 1....I woke up 4 hours later in the recovery room. I missed the whole thing. Anyway, they got the tumor out." he added.

The 61-year-old singer said he is still waiting for the biopsy results, which he expects to be released on May 16. He went on to say that he will continue working on his new album and asked his fans for financial support.

"I'm re-offering the big special. I need a bit more help to get back in the studio and finish this project. Operation is over and it's no excuse to quit," he said.

In his latest update, he offered a VIP concert package, including a DVD set, autograph, T-shirts and concert tickets, for the fans who will donate to the project, The Christian Post reported.

Licciardello, who had been remission of cancer in the past few years, has previously expressed concern that his upcoming album might be his last recording since the doctors told him about the tumor on his shoulder.

The singer has stated that his life's goal is now to "win souls," and he revealed that he has been busy working on the new album in a studio in Nashville, Tennessee. The new album will feature new content as well as a few remakes of his older songs.

Licciardello initially revealed that he had been diagnosed with myeloma cancer in February 2013. He had been given only three to four years to live, but by early 2014, he testified that he was free of cancer.

He has suffered a few health scares in recent years apart from his battle with cancer. In 2016, he was transported to a hospital after a concert due to chronic chest pain which has been diagnosed as a heart attack. He also spent time at a hospital on Memorial Day in 2015 because of multiple heart attacks.
