Severide will meet a new friend when "Chicago Fire"  season 5 returns this Fall.

According to TV Line, "Grey's Anatomy" alum Scott Elrod has been tapped for a multi-episode arc in the upcoming NBC procedural drama. Elrod's character is named Travis Brenner and he is described to be a "lifestyle" celebrity. With a "drop-dead gorgeous" appearance, Travis is a social media star with a million followers on Instagram. He meets Severide after a fire call, leading the rescue squad lieutenant to join Travis' interesting social circle.

In addition to his stint in the long-running ABC medical drama, Elrod's acting credits include "The Young and the Restless" and "Men in Trees." To date, production for "Chicago Fire" season 5 is in full swing and casting is currently underway for extras.

On other "Chicago" franchise-related news, NBC boss Bob Greenblatt recently spoke the possibility of more spinoff series being added in the future. In addition to Dick Wolf's "Chicago Fire," two other procedural series are currently on air: "Chicago PD " and "Chicago Med." The network already ordered a new installment titled "Chicago Justice" this year, but could there be more?

"Every time I think Dick Wolf has finished, he comes up with a new idea," Greenblatt said during last week's TCA summer press tour panel. "More often than not, he proves me to be wrong. ... I will never count Dick Wolf out ... that's a long-winded way of saying, 'I don't know" if there will be another 'Chicago' show."

New additions to the franchise may not happen in the near future, but the network is not entirely ruling it out. "I will never never count Dick Wolf out if he has a great idea and great execution," the exec continued. "That's a longwinded way of saying I don't know."

Tune in to the season 5 premiere of "Chicago Fire" which airs on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
