'Clash of Clans' news updates 2016: Notification limit option, Baby Dragon, two new spells

The May update for the freemium mobile MMO strategy video game "Clash of Clans" has finally landed and gamers are quite happy for the new treat. However, not all of the changes have been warmly welcomed by many.

According to a report by iDigitalTimes, the update has caused the game to excessively notify gamers. Even if it's just a minute or unimportant detail, it pops out to alert or inform a gamer. This had led to several gamers complaining to developer Supercell who are fortunately very responsive and connected to the community. They have created a solution for it by creating an optional update that minimizes the notifications.

Instead of popping out so often, notifications will now appear once every 12 hours. The source cited that in order to filter notifications, Android users will only need to use a combination of Tasker and Notification Listener. Those who are using iOS are out of luck though as filtering is not available. The only thing that players can do is to block all the notifications from the game, including the notification when the army is finally ready for battle.

Aside from the optional update, players also welcomed the new addition of a troop type, which is the Baby Dragon. It's known to be a smaller and weaker version of the Dragon and can be obtained in Town Hall 9. The Baby Dragon came along with the Miner which was actually first introduced in "Clash Royale." This new troop can be unlocked at Town Hall 10.

There's also the addition of two new spells which include the Clone Spell and Skeleton Spell. It's been said that the Clone Spell can bring forth huge waves of troops for a limited time while the Skeleton Spell spawns skeletons everywhere on the battlefield. Social Times also noted that there's the addition of the Friendly Challenges as well wherein players can compete each other as much as they want.
