The first downloadable content (DLC) expansion of "Dark Souls 3" has been announced, and it is called "Ashes of Ariandel." The DLC will launch on Oct. 25, and it will be available for the PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One, and PC. The game will take players to the frozen land of Ariandel where they will "uncover a terrible secret." In other news, game creator Hidetaka Miyazaki has confirmed that "Dark Souls 3" will be the last of the franchise.

According to Gamespot, the plot for the DLC has not been revealed in detail (like the rest of the games in the series). Players will journey to the land of Ariendel and find the evil that has destroyed the region.

Bandai Namco explains that "Players will find themselves steeped in a brand new environment filled with terrifying new enemies, challenges, and exciting lore to expand the overarching Dark Souls 3 storyline."

Fans of Disney's "Frozen" will notice that Ariendel is incredibly close to Arendelle, the town which was also put into a state of calamity when Elsa ruined the climate with her ice powers. With those similarities, players will be thinking that the "evil" that they have to find and defeat is an Ice Queen with sibling issues.

Going back to "Dark Souls," creator Hidetaka Miyazaki has said that From Software is done with making "Dark Souls" games. He says, "There's absolutely no plan right now for any sequels, spin-offs, or tie-ins ... But I can't say for certain the possibility is 0% ... What is certain for now is, to me personally 'Dark Souls' is over. So rather than make another sequel, I think it's time we take a step to a new direction."

"Ashes of Ariendel" will come out on Oct. 25, and it will cost $15 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Season passes are worth $25.
