In what could be one of the most highly-anticipated and internet-breaking collaborations, Kanye West and Drake are teaming up for an album.
During his Summer Sixteen tour, the "Hotline Bling" rapper revealed that he has already been working on new music, but did not specify that he has been doing so with West.
"I've been on this tour. I'm recording new music," Drake said to the crowd during his concert at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington.
"I'm about six, maybe seven new songs in. Just getting warmed up. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, I don't know what it's going to be, but what I do know is I can't wait to come back to the m------------ Tacoma Dome and perform all that s--- for y'all," he announced.
It turns out that these songs may have something to do with his purported joint album with West, which they teased at OVO Fest where they appeared together.
West revealed to Vogue that Drake and him are indeed teaming up for a project and have been going to the studio already.
"We're just working on music, working on a bunch of music together, just having fun going into the studio. We're working on an album, so there's some exciting things coming up soon," he said.
The Verge points out that West has already expressed interest to make music with Drake multiple times. His song "Wolves" was reportedly inspired by this dream duo prospects.
With regards to the release date, the "Famous" rapper is yet to specify a release date, but his statements, as well as Drake's, suggest that have been working on the album already.
With their popularity, both have busy schedules for sure so it looks like the two are determined to put something out there with both their names on it.
The idea of the two rap heavyweights coming together for an album is certainly an exciting possibility for fans.
