"Elder Scrolls 6" remains to be one of the most awaited titles by gamers. Unfortunately, it will be a while before it finds its way to the shelves. In fact, it will be a long while before development for it even begins.

Developer Bethesda Softworks made "Elder Scrolls 6" official last month during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016. However, they emphasized that it is not its priority at the moment.

Bethesda will first release two titles that are as big as "Elder Scrolls" and "Fallout," the company's most popular franchises. Looking at the duration it takes for the studio to push out such games, fans are in for a long wait for "Elder Scrolls 6."

Bethesda has given fans a heads-up with regards to the long wait and has repeatedly emphasized that "Elder Scrolls 6" won't be here anytime soon.

Fans have been waiting for the " Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" sequel for a while now. The expectation was it will be ready by this year, but this obviously has become impossible.

The wait for "Elder Scrolls 6" will be far tougher as Bethesda has no plans to talk about it until it is ready for unveiling. Bethesda vice president Pete Hines has underlined this in one of his Twitter exchange with a fan.

Nevertheless, Bethesda has big plans for "Elder Scrolls 6" and it appears that it will push the limits of the upcoming consoles Project Scorpio and PlayStation Neo.

"It's something that's going to take a lot of time, what we have in mind for that game," game director Todd Howard said last month at E3 as quoted by PC Gamer.

"When you think about, what is the future of that kind of game, we have a pretty good idea of what it would be, and it's just going to take technology and time that, really, we don't have necessarily right now," he added.
