A special treat is coming for fans of "Fairy Tail" next week. However, could the upcoming color page and double-chapter release also usher in a devastating turn of events when Gray takes on the black mage Zeref?

Although the previous chapter has pitted the Spriggan's strongest, August, against the Fairy Tail guild's strongest, Gildarts, the biggest battle of the arc is just about to break out in next week's special release. But can Gray's ice devil slayer magic hold its own against Zeref, or does he have one last trick up his sleeves that will astound Zeref enough to give Natsu time to catch up?

But what did the Emperor Spriggan mean when he told Gray that the situation has unfortunately escalated into the very thing that will cause Natsu the most grief? Does he plan to end Gray's life or use him against Natsu? Is Natsu really rid of E.N.D., or will Zeref find a way to reignite the part of him he has already denied? What plot twists are possibly worth a special double-chapter release?

Additionally, the odds seem to be in favor of the Fairy Tail guild now that the battlefield has returned to their home court, more specifically the town of Magnolia. However, with the threat of complete annihilation hanging above their hands if Gildarts fail to defeat August, will the guild be too anxious to fight, or will this be their biggest motivation to keep fighting? Also, is Brandish really done helping Natsu and his crew, or will she have a change of heart, if not in the upcoming chapter, then soon?

Fans are hoping that the August–Gildarts battle will also be featured in the special release, with some speculating that Laxus and Jellal may eventually come to assist Gildarts in the fight. However, others believe that Gildarts, being the mightiest mage of the Fairy Tail guild, will finally be able to show off his fullest potential and take on August all by himself.

Next week's special release will also come with additional information about the upcoming movie, "Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry," which is expected to hit theaters sometime in spring.
