Google's Nexus 7 2016 release date news: Discounts on current models indicate unveiling set for May?

There have been rumors circulating all over the Internet suggesting that Google is working on adding a new tablet to their Nexus' 2016 line up. There are also reports implicating that the American multinational technology company is trying to collaborate with the Chinese tech giant, Huawei, to help them make the Nexus flagship smartphone iteration, the Nexus 7.

The discounts given to customers on the current Nexus products seem to be a good indication that something is coming up. Fans are almost sure that it will be the Nexus 7.

The current Nexus 5X with the 16 GB internal storage is being sold in the market at a discounted price of $199. The higher version of Nexus 5X, which has a 32 GB storage capacity is also available at a discounted rate of $249. Both versions are bundled with the Project Fi option.

There are reports saying that the discount is a limited offer and will go on until April 7. Does it mean that tech freaks can expect the new iteration to come out in the following months? The timing could be just right.

According to a report from Know Your Mobile, there are rumors that Huawei will make an official announcement during this year's Google I/O Conference in May. It is reported that they will present their own take on the Nexus 7 device. If this happens, Google would probably unveil the product anytime soon, and a mid-2016 roll out of the Nexus 7 iteration definitely makes sense.

The original Nexus 7 came out in 2013. While it was considered as a very powerful tablet at that time, the competition has become pretty stiff with other manufacturers coming out with their best products. These newer tablets are more powerful with more advanced features. Nexus fans are asking for a much advanced Nexus 7, which could dominate the tablet market once it comes out.
