'GTA VI' release date news 2016: Rockstar to introduce 'World Map,' featuring different popular locations

There is no confirmed information yet about the much-anticipated next installment of the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise. Rockstar Games has not yet revealed its official plans to move on from "Grand Theft Auto V," although the game developer company has recently updated the DLC packs of the game title. However, the rumors are rife that Rockstar is, in fact, gearing up for the arrival of "Grand Theft Auto VI," which is expected to arrive two to four years from now.

The new location of the next "GTA" installment is one of the hot topics among gamers, as the game's location sets up the overall atmosphere and theme. According to the latest rumors, "GTA VI" will not only feature one but three different locations. "GTA VI" might take place in three different popular locations in the world, namely London, Tokyo and San Diego, the iTech Post reported.

Many game enthusiasts have already been speculating that Rockstar Games considers famous destinations outside the United States as new locations for the next "Grand Theft Auto" installment. The previous "GTA" titles have the center of action in a fictitious city in the United States, but for "Grand Theft Auto VI," Rockstar is rumored to explore other diverse cultures that will capture the interest of players. Mobi Picker recently reported that the next "GTA" location will be in the city of London.

As reported by Tech Radar, Rockstar is rumored to send representatives in different countries to study the potential "GTA VI" location. It was initially rumored that Rockstar has already chosen Tokyo City after the game studio sent representatives to the country. It was even rumored that "Grand Theft Auto VI" will be named as "GTA VI: Tokyo." Apparently, "GTA VI" might not only feature Tokyo or London, but also a lot more locations.

To feature various locations, Rockstar Games is rumored to introduce a new feature in "Grand Theft Auto VI," namely the "World Map." It will allow the players to travel across the globe, although gamers think that the "World Map" might be too much for the next game title.

Rockstar has not yet confirmed their target release date for "Grand Theft Auto VI," although the rumors are rife that the next installment of the franchise will not happen soon. "GTA VI" may be released sometime in 2018 at the earliest. It is also possible that the game will be launched much later in 2020, just in time for the anticipated launching of the next generation of home consoles, the Xbox Two and PlayStation 5.
