"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" has been in production long enough for details about the main antagonist to come out in the open. That information is what the folks at JoBlo managed to acquire.

The site claims that "The Man from UNCLE" star Elizabeth Debicki will play the role of Marvel Comics villainess Ayesha. The character is described as a "blonde goddess-like being" that was created by a group of scientists called the Enclave, who are "preoccupied with global domination."

The involvement of Ayesha in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" has already been teased in the past months, but JoBlo reports that its sources have seconded the information.

In the comics, the Enclave happens to be the group that created Adam Warlock, who has been rumored to be the father of Peter Quill also known as Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

Adam Warlock was called HIM while Ayesha was referred to as HER and they believed that they are the perfect soulmates to spawn a new race. It remains a mystery if this connection will be played out in the film.

Meanwhile, in a recent Facebook chat with his fans, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director James Gunn teased "a very emotional scene" between Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Drax (Dave Bautista), who he praised for their performance in the film.

Gunn shared that while the two actors rehearsed the scene, Michael Rooker, whose character Yondu will play an "important" role in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", pulled a practical joke on them by showing them his behind.

The director also gave an update on the production of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," saying that it is "going great" and that they are two weeks and two days away from completing the filming. Despite this, a trailer will not be released just yet.

"I think the movie's coming together really, really well. I think the cast has been fantastic," Gunn said. "Every single actor that was in the first movie has gotten exponentially better. They all know their characters more deeply," he gushed.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" hits the cinemas May 5, 2017.
