'Half Life 3' release date: Valve to release new game sequel with VR feature during 'Half life's' 20th anniversary?

VALVE

A lot of gaming fans have been following the developments of the rumored third "Half Life" video game. Amid all of the speculations, Valve prefers to remain silent and has not released any official statement to either confirm or deny the existence of "Half Life 3." Regardless of the silence given by the game developer company, the rumors are rife that "Half Life 3" is definitely on the way and it is expected to be released in time for the 20th anniversary of the "Half Life" game franchise.

The latest entry to the highly popular "Half Life" video game series was released more than a decade ago. In spite of the absence of a new game in the franchise over the years, "Half Life" remains an exciting treat for the gamers with "Half Life 2" being played by many people all over the world until now. The huge number of followers of "Half Life" can be seen as a go signal for Valve to come up with a third game. Neurogadget reported that Valve is actually working on "Half Life 3" as they already set a target date for its release. The company is rumored to launch the video game within two years to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the "Half Life" franchise. To recall, the first "Half Life" video game was released back in 1998, and it has amassed a huge following since then.

As "Half Life 3" is expected to be released in 2018, Valve is reportedly working very hard and double time to develop a satisfying video game right on schedule. Meanwhile, as an effort to make "Half Life 3" a thrilling addition to the successful franchise, Valve is rumored to develop the video game in virtual reality format. While this rumor may not be a far-fetched idea with the boom of VR headsets over the past few years, it must be taken with caution because anything at this very point is just pure speculation.

The rumored VR capabilities of the anticipated "Half Life" sequel sparked when HTC Chairwoman Cher Wang revealed in a statement that HTC and Valve are having a "Half Life" partnership. This gave people an idea that "Half Life 3" could be one of the first few games to be supported by the HTC Vive. However, Wang retracted her earlier statement and said that he just "misspoke" the "Half Life 3" partnership, the Game Rant reported.
