The sixth season of long-running police procedural series "Hawaii Five-0" came to a close earlier this month, but it is never too early to talk about what's in store for viewers in season 7.

In the action-packed season 6 finale, Shioma's (Michelle Krusiec) private army prevented the team from bringing Gabriel (Christopher Sean) to the hospital which led to his demise. Chin Ho's (Daniel Dae Kim) is the closest relative to Gabriel's daughter, which means that he might be the young girl's new guardian. Meanwhile, Danno (Scott Caan) was very much willing to risk his life for his partner Steve (Alex O'Loughlin), so he gave him half of his liver to help him survive.

As for how the upcoming season's plot will play out, executive producer Peter M. Lenkov mentioned that the show's theme will focus on the concept of legacy. Steve's near death experience will affect his perspective on life, leading him to take a good look at everything that he has done as a person. "He just starts to reflect on everything, the choices that he's made and looks for a reason to continue doing what he's doing, Lenkov told Entertainment Weekly. "That's going to play a little bit of a theme next year. "

The EP also hinted that the upcoming season's Big Bad will be someone nobody expects. Shioma disappeared in the finale, but she surely will not be coming back as Lenkov confirmed. One of the key story arcs for next season is Chin's fatherhood and his fight for adoption. Additionally, there is a possibility of Chin finally building a family of his own as he might propose to Abby (Julie Benz). "It's going in that direction for sure," Lenkov explained. "I want these people to be happy, because they've become my family, too. And the same way with Kono and Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) getting out of prison. I do want these people to be happy."

The seventh season of "Hawaii Five-0" is expected to return sometime in the Fall. Further details regarding the exact premiere date are expected soon.
