Since then, rumors about its upcoming sequel have been a favorite subject all over the internet. New reports suggest that "Injustice 2" will include several DC characters in the game. There are also reports saying that the second installment will be introduced at the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

A French publication, Gameblog, recently reported that NetherRealm Studios has already started the development of the second installment. Apparently, the game developer is planning to debut the game at E3 and will have a release date in March 2017.

Both NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. have yet to provide details about the upcoming sequel, much less its release date. However, many fans believe that it is only a matter of time before either company makes the "Injustice 2" official.

There have been rumors circulating that the game will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the PC platforms. According to some game observers, the game developer will use the same engine utilized in developing the popular "Mortal Kombat X."

As of the moment, no details have been reported with regard to its storyline. The company has yet to confirm which DC characters will make it into the second installment.

Fans believe that Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, The Joker, Nightwing, Green Lantern, Deathstroke, Catwoman, General Zod and Doomsday could make it to the game. If rumors prove to be true, fans can expect a pretty exciting sequel once the company finishes the development.
