The Apple iPad mini 5 missed the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which is understandable since the tablet is expected to be released in September.

The recent event was devoted to the software releases of the tech company, which means that the hardware products will be saved for fall, including the iPad mini 5.

The tablet is believed to be launched this September, since its predecessor, the iPad mini 4 was released the same month last year.

Last year's release was actually earlier than usual since the iPad mini is usually released in a separate event scheduled during the month of October.

Now, it is expected that Apple will continue the September launch for the tablet, which means that the iPad mini 5 will be released that month along with the new iPhones.

With regards to the specs, the iPad mini 5 will reportedly do without the 3.5mm headphone jack, just like the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

It makes since the iPad mini 5 will be released with the flagship smartphones, it will look better not to keep the headphone jack.

Furthermore, this tweak is also expected to make the iPad mini 5 slimmer. However, Apple's desire for sleekness and thinness won't compromise the battery life.

The tech giant from Cupertino has been reportedly finding ways to extend the battery life and still keep the device thin. It remains a mystery if this technology will be seen in the iPad mini 5. Apple is expected to do the same to the iPhone 7.

Despite a slimmer build, the iPad mini 5 will still be extremely durable if reports that Apple will use a 7000-series aluminum chassis on it are anything to go by.

The iPad mini 5 is purportedly coming with 3D Touch although an upgrade on the camera might not be on Apple's agenda for the tablet.
