'Iron Man 4' movie news 2016: Is there more to Pepper Potts than her role as Tony Stark's trusted right hand?

Virginia "Pepper" Potts, who is portrayed by Gwyneth Paltrow and has carried the superhero alias Rescue, is said to be deserving of a story arc that is highlighted in the Marvel Comics Universe.

According to Movie Pilot, Potts is one significant reason for "Iron Man 4" to happen. As her superhero moniker, Rescue, suggests, Potts does wonders when she is out and fighting in order to try and save the world. Her character has appeared in all of the three "Iron Man" installments as well as in "The Avengers" which means that her presence proves to be of significant impact in the Marvel universe. Hence, Rescue should be allowed outside of Stark Industries and the laboratory in order to display her superhero champion grit and beat some villains.

In addition, the absence of Potts in "Captain America: Civil War" clearly has an impact on Stark whose general sense of constant exhaustion seems to be associated with Potts not being around as his aid. Her absence may also have contributed to Stark being convinced that the Avengers should be kept in check.

It is worth noting that at some point during the onset of "Captain America: Civil War," Steve Rogers asks Stark about where Potts is. Thus, it is argued that since Potts holds a constant and important place in Stark's life as a human and as Iron Man's aid even from the start, her story should have a more elaborate exposure which can unravel in the event that there will be an "Iron Man 4." Apart from this, Movie Pilot notes that there is a main Rescue story arc from the comics which has yet to reel out in the movies.

And while there is still nothing official about the fourth "Iron Man" film, Robert Downey Jr. expressed that he will be willing and happy to reprise his role as Tony Stark in another solo "Iron Man" installment. Yet, fans will have to wait for quite some time since Downey is doing "Sherlock Holmes 3" and "Spider-Man: Homecoming," both of which happening this year.
