The Islamic State is reportedly plotting an attack on the day of U.S. president-elect Donald Trump's inauguration.

A report from the Daily Express earlier this week stated that ISIS is planning an attack on Jan. 20, 2017, declaring it as "Bloody Friday." However, terrorism analyst Michael S. Smith II, who noted that his tweets were the origins of the report, said that his words have been misconstrued by the Daily Express.

Smith suggested that ISIS will call the day "Bloody Friday" because he believes that Trump will increase the pressure on the jihadist group. In light of Smith's clarification, Heavy reported that Inauguration Day still remains as a target of terror attacks.

According to the Daily Express article, ISIS has recently recruited several English-speaking operatives to communicate its message before the day. The terror group has increased its production of videos with English subtitles in the past few weeks to reinforce its targets in the U.S.

A video released by the ISIS last week suggested that the terror group is planning to carry out perceived "assassination attempts" on Donald Trump and other world leaders.

The Malay language video titled "Incite the Believers to Fight 2" features a footage of Trump being rushed off the stage in Reno, Nevada by Secret Service agents, according to a report from Heavy. The video also features a segment about Asian world leaders participating in Operation Inherent Resolve, which is aimed at eliminating the terror group in Iraq and Syria.

After the U.S. elections, ISIS released a statement calling Trump a "donkey" who will destroy America on his own.

"What we want is their country to be delivered to a donkey like Trump who will destroy it. In the end, they are all our enemies and we will only meet them on the battlefields," the statement read.

"It is either them or us. We ask Allah to make their destruction caused by their own plans and their death come among themselves," it continued.

During the campaign period, Trump stressed that he will be tough on ISIS, and he stated that he is willing to work with Russia in order to defeat the terrorist group.
