"Jane the Virgin" became an instant hit with viewers due to its unusual story arc and penchant for injecting telenovela-ish plot points in the narrative. Now its lead star dishes on her newfound fame and popularity as further details about the upcoming season are revealed.

Rodriguez openly discussed the opportunities that her newfound fame has brought her in a recent Comedy Actress Roundtable interview, which is hosted by The Hollywood Reporter. According to the Latina actress, what she enjoys most about the immense popularity the sitcom has given her is the chance to connect with virtual strangers.

She said that because of her role (a virgin mother), people whom she hasn't met before are more inclined to open up to her about their sexual orientation and whatnot. The actress even shared an anecdote about a girl she recently met who was also saving herself for marriage.

"I was like, 'Girl, get it.' It was amazing. She was so convicted," she excitedly recalled. "I actually find it to be a really awesome benefit of being an artist. You can connect with people that you've never met before."

However, if the arc for the third season pushes through, then the word 'Virgin' in the title might have to be crossed off soon. Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman talked to ET Online where she said that the accidental-mother-of-one might no longer be a virgin by the end of season 3.

"Yes, yes, yes—it's happening!" Urman said. "She'll lose her virginity this year for sure."

As to whom Jane would lose her v-card to remains a mystery. Yes, she might have gotten married to Michael (Brett Dier) in the season 2 finale, but Sin Rostro (Bridget Regan), who was disguised as his cop partner Susanna (Megan Ketch), also shot him in pointblank range. Jane and Michael weren't able to consummate their wedding night because of the shooting.

While Michael is the ideal person for Jane to surrender her v-card, there's a possibility that gunshot would be fatal enough for him to die. Dier recently granted a phone interview to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, and he said that he's currently involved in another project called "Hiatus." However, he did promise that the third season would be one exciting ride. With that information, the identity of the fortunate soul who'll do Jane's unmasking remains a mystery.

"Jane the Virgin" season 3 will be back on The CW on its new schedule, Oct. 17, 9 p.m. ET. It will air every Monday from the point forward.
