Following 2015's summer blockbuster hit "Jurassic World," it can be expected that a sequel will be born out of the massive commercial success of the first film. As it was confirmed by "Jurassic World" director, Colin Trevorrow that "Jurassic World" is just the first of the planned trilogy of movies based on Steven Spielberg's original classic "Jurassic Park," rumors have started buzzing around the internet regarding the plot of the second "Jurassic World" film, which is expected to be out in theaters on June 22, 2018.

Initial plot rumor for "Jurassic World 2" has it that the dinosaurs will be pitted against reptiles that are genetically modified and heavily equipped with weapons. The idea of massive reptilian war machines is not far-fetched if the story of "Jurassic World" is to be recalled, as the antagonistic character Vic Hoskins (played by Vincent D'Onofrio) was obsessing over an army of genetically-modified creatures that he can use for warfare. At first, he set his eyes on the velociraptors under the care of Owen Grady (played Chris Pratt) in hopes that the fast-moving carnivores will be the key to his evil plans. However, with the turmoil caused by the ferocious Indominus Rex in the theme park, he was presumably killed by one of Grady's raptors.

The rumors would also suggest that the image of dinosaurs going after and devouring humans will not be the center of the plot, as the action will be focused on dinosaurs going head-to-head against the monstrous reptiles that is expected to end up in one of the most intense fights in the history of  "Jurassic" movies.

To note, there have been no official statements or mentions from Universal Studios regarding the actual storyline of "Jurassic World 2" and the rumors surfacing on the Internet could be unproven hearsays from unconfirmed sources. However, Trevorrow shed some light about the sequel in an interview with Wired.

The "Jurassic World" director revealed that the cast of the first film will appear in the sequel. The story, on the other hand, will not be confined within the walls of theme parks as opposed to the previous "Jurassic" movies.

Trevorrow also added that the "Jurassic World" sequels will be built in the same foundation that produced the first "Jurassic World" film. He said that the famous quote of Ian Malcolm (played by Jeff Goldblum), the protagonist of the very first "Jurassic Park" movie, will continue to serve as basis for the 2 remaining sequels.
