Director Colin Trevorrow will not be returning to direct the sequel of the Universal Studios box office success "Jurrassic World," but he has signed on as a producer and is currently working on the script with Derek Connolly. Recently, Trevorrow revealed that the next installment will involve more animatronic dinosaurs, and that the movie will be a lot scarier.

Trevorrow answered these questions at an InGeneral podcast called Jurassic Outpost. He comments that he (and Connolly) have written a few scenes that require animatronics and the director of the sequel, J.A. Bayona, has also prioritized practical effects over use of computer-generated imagery (CGI).

Trevorrow said, "There will be animatronics for sure. We'll follow the same general rule as all of the films in the franchise, which is the animatronic dinosaurs are best used when standing still or moving at the hips or the neck. They can't run or perform complex physical actions, and anything beyond that you go to animation."

He went on to explain that there were so little animatronics in "Jurassic World" because the Indominus Rex moved very fast and fluidly, something that animatronics would not be able to duplicate properly.

He also said that they are writing the story based on Bayona's skillset, and that the movie will be more suspenseful and scarier. Even though the original "Jurassic Park" was marketed for kids, there's no doubt that the movie had some pretty intense and shocking scenes — much more than in "Jurassic World."

According to reports, Trevorrow has expressed a desire to deviate from the "theme-park" setting of the "Jurassic" movies, implying that companies other than InGen have been able to successfully create dinosaurs on screens. No details for the sequel's plot has been announced, but that could be a clue to what's to come.

Production is said to start February of next year and it will be the second film in a trilogy. Lead stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are expected to return.

"Jurassic World 2" is set for a release on June 22, 2018.
