Kickass Torrents shutdown 2016 update: People search for mirror sites; Top KAT alternatives to be shut down next?

The online world was shocked upon the news last July that this year's top torrent resource website, Kickass Torrents, was successfully taken down by the authorities. The seizure of the KAT main server seems to stay for long, and some internet users are now thinking that the website might have been shut down for good. Still, there is nothing to stop the people from searching possible Kickass Torrents mirror sites that are still operational.

The KAT shutdown also gave an opportunity to other torrent websites to experience a surge in daily visits. As reported, there are many torrent sites that enjoyed their websites' traffic surge with the absence of Kickass Torrents. The Pirate Bay, for example, has become the leading torrents source among the users now that KAT is out of the picture. Likewise, YIFY movies, Torrentz.eu, Torrent Hound and Extra Torrents have all benefited from the absence of Kickass Torrents. Specifically, many users find YIFY Movies helpful in providing good quality versions of movies, with each copy having 720p and 1080p resolution options.

The bad news for now is that the authorities appear to be targeting the top KAT alternative sites as well. According to iTech Post, The Pirate Bay is recently in trouble as the website has been flagged by Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Those who are using the mentioned internet browsers will not be able to access The Pirate Bay unless the block is lifted. With these reports, the rumor of The Pirate Bay being shut down like what the federal authorities did with the Kickass Torrents is growing.

However, there is still no definite reports that The Pirate Bay and other torrent resource websites are on the verge of getting seized. Even so, internet users still have hope that the Kickass Torrents mirror sites are still working. It will be best for them to have a longer list of alternatives now that the authorities are moving fast to take down this kind of websites.
