'Lucifer' season 2 episode 13 spoilers: Lucifer goes back to Hell for Chloe, loses self in guilt over Uriel

Lucifer (Tom Ellis) may have had doubts about Chloe's (Lauren German) sincerity, but saving her life still takes precedence over any feelings of betrayal in the midseason finale of "Lucifer." If he has to go back to Hell in order to do so, then that's exactly what he's going to do.

Titled "A Good Day to Die," the next episode will feature Lucifer voluntarily going back to Hell after Chloe showed signs of being infected by one of the designer poisons concocted by the Professor (Tim DeKay). Since these designer poisons can only be cured by a designer antidote made specifically for that particular mixture, and since the Professor was the only person on earth who could concoct it until he killed himself, going back home seems like the only option left for Lucifer.

But Lucifer himself will be confronted by his own personal poison when he comes face-to-face with Uriel (Michael Imperioli), the brother he has previously killed. Could this really be Uriel stuck in the bowers of Hell forever, or could this only be a hallucinatory manifestation of Lucifer's deep-seated guilt? After all, wasn't Uriel killed by Azrael's Blade, which should've essentially erased any trace of him from existence?

Whatever the reason is for his return, it seems that seeing Uriel will affect Lucifer so badly that Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) will also be forced to go back to Hell to retrieve her son before Chloe, the only chance The Celestials have of going back home, completely succumbs to death.

Will Lucifer make it back in time to save Chloe? Will he be able to eventually come to terms with the fact that meeting Chloe may serve a bigger purpose in his absentee father's grand scheme? Will this cause him to distance himself from the woman he has come to genuinely care for, or will it only make him watch her closer and protect her for God's plans?

The explosive midseason finale of "Lucifer" airs on Monday, Jan. 30, at 9:01 p.m. EST on FOX.
