If the rumors are true, the MacBook followers may not need to wait for a whole year before the release of Apple's new MacBook Pro laptop. It is heavily speculated that the Cupertino-based tech giant will proceed with the unveiling of Macbook Pro 2016 within the year, although there has been no confirmation from Apple regarding the development and release date of their new device. So far, the reports suggest that the 2016 Macbook Pro model will be released by Apple in October, which will place it in the period when Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 is also expected to be launched.

The October release date for MacBook Pro 2016 contradicts the earlier reports that the new laptop model will arrive in June. According to MacRumors, MacBook Pro 2016 is likely to be introduced along with Apple's other big surprises during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016, which will run from June 14 to 17.

Recently, MacWorld reported that the release of MacBook Pro 2016 will no longer push through next month. Its unveiling will be moved to the fourth quarter of 2016, most probably in October. However, Microsoft is also rumored to release the latest Surface Pro model sometime in October. If the reports verify, the public can expect a face-off between Apple's new generation of laptop and Microsoft's latest hybrid gadget.

The MacBook Pro 2016 will need to overpower Surface Pro 5's features. So far, the rumored features of Surface Pro 5 are the 4K HD screen display with maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. It is also expected to sport the Type C USB port, something that will also be featured by the upcoming MacBook Pro design, according to CNET.

Aside from the new laptop model, the company is expected to showcase the new iOS 10 for the Apple smartphones. In terms of the laptop's operating system, it is rumored that the Mac OS will no longer be used in future MacBook units, including the MacBook Pro 2016. It is rumored that the new MacBook will now sport OS X 10.12, which will introduce the virtual assistant Siri in the MacBook.
