Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date news update: Arriving early 2017? New Surface Book moving on from Skylake?

Many have been following the developments of the rumored Surface Book 2 by the Microsoft Corporation. First released in 2015, the Surface Book has been well-received by tech users and it has given the company bigger opportunities to expand its laptop venture.

There were reports that the Surface Book 2 will arrive as early as next month. However, the latest rumors suggest that the public will not see the next generation of Surface Book until early next year.

Earlier reports show that Microsoft is planning to formally introduce the new Surface Book 2 laptops to the public in June. While the electronics giant has not made any statements to confirm the ongoing development of the Surface Book 2, these reports should be taken lightly.

Although the rumored appearance of the Surface Book this year would coincide with another rumored big release by Apple, as the MacBook Pro 2016 model is reportedly under way.

If the rumors are correct, the new MacBook Pro laptops will be unveiled during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) this year. The anticipated release of Surface Book 2 is seen to rival Macbook Pro 2016 in the market.

A recent report came up as per the PC Tablet website stating that Microsoft will launch the new Surface Books in 2017 instead.

According to the report, Surface Book 2 is no longer expected to arrive this year, although the extra time for more waiting may be worth it as the laptop is expected to boast much-improved specs feature compared to its predecessor.

For starters, the Surface Book 2 is reported to use the next generation of Intel Kaby Lake processors. The first Surface Book uses the Intel Skylake technology for a fast computer system.

With Kaby Lake, the new Surface Book is expected to get even faster and the laptop's battery life will be optimized. Also, the Kaby Lake chipset will make the rumored 4K screen resolution of Surface Book 2 possible.
