October was supposed to mark the release of Microsoft's Surface Book 2, but a change in plans suggests that the Surface Book 2 will be released along with the Surface Book Pro 5, which is rumored to come out early 2017.

Reports are suggesting that Microsoft may have adopted a different pattern of release for their devices, as none of the current rumors that are floating around corresponds to how Microsoft previously launched their products. Aside from the Surface Pro 5, the new Surface Book is also set to arrive along with a new Surface Phone.

The upcoming Surface Book Pro is rumored to run on the Windows 10 Redstone 2, which has been highly anticipated by users. The Redstone 2 is said to come with new features like OneClip and Office Hub. Also, like the Surface Pro 5, the Surface Book 2 will boast a 4K resolution and a USB 3.1 port. The laptop is also said to have 3D capabilities.

The Surface Book 2 will reportedly run on Intel's latest Kaby Lake processor, which is rumored to come out by the end of the year.

The reports of the delayed release of the Surface Book 2 have led many to believe that Microsoft will have nothing to bring this October, but such may not be the case. Rumor has it that Microsoft is planning on releasing another addition to the Surface Book series, and that this device will be able to set itself apart from its competitors that are currently in the market.

The Surface Book 2 has a lot to live up to because its predecessor, the Microsoft Surface Book, was awarded the "Laptop of the Year" at the UK T3 Awards. It won the title over several other competitors like Apple, Acer Aspire, Dell, Lenovo, and HP.

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 is rumored to be released early next year.
