It is quite a disappointment for so many fans who have been waiting for the next release. According to reports, the American Software giant is still trying to come up with a good device before deciding a release date.

There have been numerous reports stating that the company may release the highly anticipated Microsoft Surface Pro 5 this year. This report started when several retailers decided to cut the price of the previous models – Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and Microsoft Surface Pro 5, which is a good indication that a new model is about to come out.

As of the moment, the current Microsoft Surface Pro 4 saw a $150 price drop from its original retail price, while the previous Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is being sold with a $200 discount.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has yet to provide specific details of the upcoming device; however, several tech publications have already reported rumors and speculations about it. According to reports, the device will be powered by Intel's upcoming Kaby Lake processor, which is said to be available later this year.

According to CNET, the device will come out with a starting price of $899 and will reportedly support 4K resolution technology.

Other rumored features include a USB type-C port and an On-Board Fingerprint Scanner. An Advance Surface Pen is also expected to come out together with Microsoft Surface Pro 5, which is said to be one of the highlights of the hybrid device.
