"NCIS: New Orleans" has cast "Graceland" alum Vanessa Ferlito as a series regular for the upcoming third season of the show.

According to TV Line, Ferlito will play a sexy and tough FBI Special Agent who goes to New Orleans to investigate on the NCIS team. Her character is said to be by-the-book, and her mysterious ways of getting things done will get her in trouble with the town and the members of the team.

Brad Kern, executive producer of the show, also had this to say about Ferlito, "We're beyond excited to have Vanessa join our show and look forward to adding her distinctive personality and edge to our amazing 'NCIS: New Orleans' cast."

Ferlito is no stranger to playing an FBI Agent, and she also has some experience with crime-dramas. Back in 2004, she had a two-season stint as Aiden Burn in "CSI: NY," and she also had a co-starring role in the failed Nancy Drew pilot, "Drew."

Ferlito is also no stranger to roles in the big screen, as she played Arlene and Butterfly in the Quentin Tarantin/Robert Rodriguez collaboration "Death Proof." Her most recent role, however, is in the USA Network series, "Graceland," where she played Catherine "Charlie" DeMarco.

Ferlito's character in "NCIS: New Orleans" season 3, Agent Garland, was said to have transferred to New Orleans because of her knowledge of the town. How the team will handle Garland's arrival is still unknown, but sparks are sure to fly with this new cast member.

The last season for "NCIS: New Orleans" proved to be an exciting one when Dwayne Pride's (Scott Bakula) took down a Homeland Security Agent who was anti-military. The assignment ended in success, but the whole team was put under scrutiny for it. Hopefully Ferlito's Agent Garland fits right in with the team.

"NCIS: New Orleans" season 3 premieres this Sept. 20 on CBS.
