With the preparations for the coming NFL season still underway, the New York Giants are facing a tough situation as they head into their training camp. Probably the biggest question they have is how Victor Cruz will fare this season.

The famed wide receiver is undoubtedly one of the favorite players in the Giants roster and questions on his health and how his career will move forward are up in the air as he continues his recovery from major injuries.

Back in 2014, Cruz suffered a torn patellar tendon in their game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

That caused him to miss out on the rest of the season as he started his therapy, with his road back to fitness an excruciatingly long one.

Things were going according to plan until he tore a calf muscle on the other leg at last year's training camp, further hindering him from taking to the field.

Now, ESPN reported how big of a question mark Cruz is in the plans of the Giants to get back on top in the 2016 season.

The report claims that there is no question that Cruz will be back this year, but fans are left wondering whether he can still be the same force he was prior to the injuries.

In 2014, before his injury, Cruz had 23 receptions for 337 yards in the first six games, giving him an impressive average of 14.7 yards per carry.

Even before that, Cruz put up very impressive numbers for the Giants as he constantly averaged more than 68 yards between 2011 and 2013, and the 2011 campaign was considered to be one of his best in his NFL career.

At 29 years old, Cruz is about to reach the peak of his powers, and with his body already taking a massive beating with the injuries, Giants fans can only hope that he can put up the same numbers he did in the past.
