Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson announced on social media last Wednesday that his singer wife Ciara is pregnant.

Wilson expressed his delight about Ciara's pregnancy on Instagram saying, "The Greatest Blessing of All. Forever Grateful." The message was followed by the hashtag "#BabyWilsonOnTheWay."

The couple got married last July in Cheshire, England. Before the wedding, the couple said that they would abstain from sex until they were married. Wilson revealed to Pastor Miles McPherson in July 2015 that he talked to Ciara about taking a vow of abstinence.

"I asked her 'What would you do if we took all that other stuff off the table and did it Jesus' way, no sex? ... I knew God had brought me into her life to bless her and for her to bless me, and to bless so many people with the impact that she has and I have," he told McPherson.

Ciara said that the decision to abstain from sex has helped the growth of their relationship. She has previously revealed that she prayed for a God-fearing man before she even met the NFL star.

"I remember telling my friend the kind of guy I wanted: a God-fearing man with a very fun spirit who loves kids and would really, truly care for me. I was very specific because I do believe you can have it all," she told Essence.

The singer is confident that God is in control of their relationship so she does not worry about where it is headed in the future.

The couple made it a priority to serve God together. Russell had been volunteering at the Seattle Children's Hospital for several years. He invited Ciara to come along in June 2015.

Ciara confessed that the visits made a profound impact on her. She said that every visit is a new experience and it makes her want to do more for the children at the hospital.
