Nintendo NX release date, price news: British general merchandise retailer Tesco reveals NX details

British general merchandise retailer Tesco accidentally revealed the release date for Nintendo's NX, when their pre-order page for the device went live ahead of the intended schedule. Were the details true? Nintendo still remains mum on the subject. The company has yet to confirm the console's launching date.

The page was immediately taken down by Tesco but apparently, the retailer was not too quick. The alleged details about the console have already spread amongst fans. The Nintendo NX is expected launch on Dec. 13. Furthermore, the device reportedly costs $399.99.

Gamers might find out if the rumors about the device are true at the Nintendo Direct presentation. At the event, the developers will be unveiling the new console. The event was created to discuss the upcoming update for "Animal Crossing: New Leaf," but Express believes that the console could be introduced in the event as well.

Even though information about the NX is sparse, Collins assures fans that Nintendo will deliver the level of quality that is expected from them.

The NX is rumored to be a hybrid, adding the handheld gaming to the console.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot had high praises for the Nintendo NX. "I believe Nintendo will be back in the race with the NX," Guillemot said during a meeting with investors, French journalist Chloé Woitier tweeted.

The CEO once said at a Ubisoft presentation, "The new Nintendo [console] is a fantastic machine," he said. "It's really a new approach, it's really Nintendo, [which is] coming with something new again. We love it."

Nintendo previously expressed that the console could be launched next March; however, recent reports suggest that the NX could come out within the year.

Nintendo has yet to comment on the recent speculations. Fans of the brand should treat the reports as speculation until proven otherwise.
