'One Punch Man' season 2 update: Stronger villains, release date later this year?

Recent reports remain inconclusive when it comes to the final release date of "One Punch Man" season 2. However, fans are in no way hurrying the production if the quality of the show will be sacrificed.

Meanwhile, spoilers have been making rounds as the fans anticipate what the second season has in store for them.

According to Yibada, this upcoming season might be difficult for Saitama because he will encounter villains who might be as strong as him. Following the demise of Lord Boros during the first season, a new villain will try to battle with Saitama. Garou, a former disciple of Silver Fang, is said to be one of the most powerful villains in the next season. Fans see the fight between him and Saitama will be very interesting, given that they are two sides of the same coin.

Saitama might also battle with Amai Mask (Class A Rank 1 Hero) of the Hero Association this season, as he possesses a skill which can defeat the "One Punch Man." Saitama's apprentice Genos is likely to fight him as well, making this season a tough one for the main lead. With that, fans can expect an action-packed second season.

First published in 2009, "One Punch Man" is an ongoing Japanese webcomic created by an author using the pseudonym One.The manga series was a big hit, with more than 7.9 million hits last 2012. Yusuke Murata illustrated a digital manga remake of the series, which was released in Shueisha's Young Jump Web Comics website during the said year. Viz Media acquired the rights for an English version which was first published in the Weekly Shonen Jump digital magazine. Madhouse later brought the manga to TV with the first season aired between October and December 2015 in Japan.

The second installment for anime series "One Punch Man" remains inconclusive, but there are speculations claiming that it will happen around November or December this year. The show is expected to have 19 episodes, with each spanning 22 minutes.

In the latest report by Animenewsnetwork, Anime Consortium Japan will air the first 12 episodes of One Punch Manin Asia for free on Daisuki.net.
