Pittsburgh Steelers trade rumors 2016: Big cuts coming

With the preseason almost over, all the teams in the National Football League are ready to make their cuts.

The final list of players before the start of the season should be at 53, and the Pittsburgh Steelers have a tough decision as they are currently still above 70 at the moment.

For the first wave of cuts, the Steelers can trim the team down to around 75, but they are not going to be limited to cutting the injured players and the young stars.

According to The End Zone Score, there are some surprising names that might not make the cut as the 2016 season begins.

One of those might be tight end Xavier Grimble, and it may not be for anything that he has or has not done on the field.

The chance that Grimble has on the team will depend greatly on whether Ladarius Green will be available.

If Green makes a comeback, then it is entirely possible that Grimble is out of the picture for the Steelers.

Another player on the bubble is possibly Demarcus Ayers. The wide receiver is under a lot of pressure as Eli Rogers has been great carrying the ball so far in the preseason.

It does not help that Ayers has not been impressive in his appearances, and that is likely going to be his downfall if he gets cut by the Steelers.

There is hope, however, as he can prove himself in the last preseason game that could very well save his spot on the team.

Finally, the cornerback position is one of the most crowded spots in the team.

Senquez Golson went down with an injury that opened up chances for players like Montell Garner, Donald Washington, and Al-Hajj Shabazz.

Among the three, Garner has the most to prove to show that he has what it takes to outshine the other two players.

He has had decent performances but remains to be battling an uphill climb to stay with the Steelers.
