'Pokemon Sun and Moon' release date news update: Discovered names of maps in Alola Region have a hint of nostalgia

"Pokemon Sun and Moon" will be set in the region of Alola, which is comprised of four locations. The names and maps for these locations were recently revealed by some eagled-eye fans.

In the Japanese trailer that goes into detail about the all new Pokedex, which can communicate with players and has new features courtesy of Pokemon Rotom, the name of the maps were hinted.

At one point, the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" trailer cuts to a screen that displays the Pokedex screen that lists all the Pokemons discovered by the player. It showed two different lists with three blank lines.

The first list is labelled Alola Pokedex and the one below it reads MeleMele Pokedex, whose first word, when translated in Hawaiian means, yellow. Fans can easily find a Pokemon connection with this translation.

Yellow happens to be one of the four colors that served as the naming schemes for the first generation "Pokemon" titles. The other ones are red, blue and green, which reports believe are associated with the rest of the maps in "Pokemon Sun and Moon."

When these colors are translated into Hawaiian, they easily sound like they will be the names of the islands in the tropical region of Alola. Red becomes UlaUla, blue translates to Polū and green means ŌmaOma.

If this is how Nintendo really decided to name the islands, "Pokemon Sun and Moon" will undoubtedly pay homage to the first "Pokemon" games that started it all. There couldn't be a better time, especially since this year marks the two decade-anniversary of the beloved "Pokemon" franchise.

Alola is heavily based on Hawaii. Apart from these four maps, an artificial map will also be included in "Pokemon Sun and Moon." The pair of Legendary Pokemon creatures were also revealed—Solgaleo and Lunaala.

"Pokemon Sun and Moon" will be released on Nov. 18. Gameplay footage will be shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 on the first day, June 14.
