Popular crime action drama "Prison Break" made headlines when it was confirmed to be revived after years of hiatus, and the upcoming season 5 will be nothing short of interesting once the series returns next year.

Seven years after the show wrapped up its fourth season, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies), Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) and the rest of the crew will make their much-awaited comeback along with a new storyline sure to keep fans hooked. The plot picks up on Lincoln finding out that his brother Michael is still alive, so they come up with an elaborate plan to get him out of the Yemeni prison he's in.

Just recently, Purcell sustained on-set injuries while shooting for a new episode, and he updates fans through his Instagram profile. The 46-year-old actor posted a photo of him with bloodied wounds and a bandaged nose, with a caption assuring his followers that everything is fine. "I'm good. #thanksforsupport ... Had a little accident on set. Haha! Back at work asap. Pays to have a thick skull when an iron bar falls on your #head!! busting it open severely also broke my nose in two places," he wrote on his social media account.

Aside from the good guys, fans may be wondering who will cause trouble in the show's new season. The identity of the new big bad is yet to be revealed, but there are surely some characters who can easily be considered as a villain. As noted by spoilers, T-Bag (Robert Knepper) tops the list as the darkest character in the story. He had always made Michael's life difficult, and he is back to do what he does best. The first trailer even saw Dominic telling him to lay off Michael's prison escape plan.

After years of Michael being away, it is understandable that his former wife Sara found new love in someone else. Mark Feuerstein landed a recurring role in the "Prison Break" universe as Sara's new love interest Scott Ness, and he will obviously get in the way of Michael and Sara's reconciliation. Additionally, Agent Paul Kellerman (Paul Adelstein) is also set to return and since he was once an enemy of Michael, there is a possibility of him bringing trouble in the upcoming installment.

The network has yet to announce a definitive release date, but "Prison Break" returns for season 5 sometime in 2017.
