Rev. Mark Creech explains why evangelicals should vote for Donald Trump

Rev. Mark Creech, executive director of Christian Action League of North Carolina, is trying to convince Christians to vote for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump despite the flaws in his character.

In a YouTube video released on Oct. 20, Creech noted that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is unpopular among evangelicals. He acknowledged that Trump's temperament does not sit well with some Christians but there are many who chose to forgive and support the Republican candidate.

The pastor argued that a candidate's political position should also be considered in determining their character.

Creech mentioned that in addition to Clinton's past transgressions, the Democratic candidate also supports abortion and prioritizes LGBTQ rights over religious liberty.

"Now it's true that Donald Trump exhibits some disturbing and contemptable conduct. Nevertheless, he is the antithesis of Clinton in his politics," he stated.

"Granted, we don't know if Trump will keep his political commitments if elected, but at least faithful Christians have his promise to work to represent their concerns, while Hillary Clinton has clearly demonstrated, as well as promised, that she will oppose what devout believers know is the cause of Jesus Christ," he continued.

He recounted the words of radio talk show host Janet Mefferd, who stated that she would choose to vote for a Muslim candidate who would allow Christians to maintain their churches over another candidate who espouses Sharia law.

The pastor asserted that the recent attack on Trump is just a distraction to divert the attention of voters away from more urgent matters.

Creech reiterated Trump's vow to stop abortion, appoint conservative Supreme Court justices and repeal the Johnson Amendment, which prevents pastors from endorsing political candidates.

He said that he has not always been a firm supporter of the real estate mogul but the circumstances indicate that either Clinton or Trump will be the next president. He argued that the conservative evangelicals who are unwilling to vote for the Republican nominee are only serving their conscience but not their country.

"You can vote in good conscience for Donald Trump, I intend to pull the lever for him on November 8th, and I want to encourage my fellow evangelicals to do likewise," he concluded.

In another article published by the Christian Action League, Creech recommended the voter guide published by the Billy Graham Evangelical Association. The guide highlights the difference between the platforms of the Democratic and Republican parties.
