'Rick and Morty' Season 3 release date news update: Series to return early 2017 instead of July-Aug this year?

It was earlier reported that Adult Swim is gearing up for an earlier than usual premiere of "Rick and Morty" Season 3. It was even speculated by the fans that the new season will be shown in the last week of July, or possibly within the first two weeks of August. Unfortunately, it was revealed that "Rick and Morty" is not expected to hit the TV screens sooner this year, and there are even reports suggesting that the third season will be aired in the early months of 2017.

According to reports, the IMDB page of "Rock and Morty" Season 3 shows the premiere episode happening on July 26. As of the meantime, that does not seem possible as it is just a few days away and both Adult Swim and Cartoon Network are not yet announcing a date. Still, the page is suggesting a 2016 release date for Season 3 and if "Rick and Morty" does not return this month, it is possible to premiere in August instead.

Moreover, the IMDB page for "Rick and Morty" Season 3 no longer lists the July 26th premiere of the first episode. However, the episodes 2 to 10 are indicated to have a 2016 showing date, but episodes 11 to 14 still have an unspecified air date. After July, August is now the best bet of the viewers for the third season premiere, although that bet may be losing at the moment.

Sadly, for those who could no longer wait for the new chapter, the rumored Season 3 premiere of "Rick and Morty" next month was debunked by the series creator himself, Dan Harmon. As reported by the Paste Magazine, Harmon cleared up the latest rumors that the animated series will be back by August.

"That I can squash. I don't see any parallel universe where August is a possibility. We're a while from being able to give a hard date. Part of that is just that we're still figuring it out as we work over here... And the other part of it is that it's not our right to say because the network has their own strategies," Harmon told Paste Magazine as the reporters asked him about the rumored August premiere of "Rick and Morty" Season 3.
