The rumor mills already have everyone talking about the Samsung Galaxy S8. The latest buzz around the Samsung Galaxy S7 successor is that it will boast 4K resolution display.

According to UploadVR, Samsung already showcased this technology during the Display Week conference, where the tech firm showed off a 5.5-inch 4K display designed for Virtual Reality (VR).

The pixel density of the screen climbed up to 806ppi, which is double what premium flagships boast. This translates to a 3840 x 2160 resolution, which the Samsung Galaxy S8 could definitely get as an upgrade from the S7.

To put things in perspective, the current flagship features a Quad HD resolution, which renders 2560 x 1440 resolution. At that rate, the display already looks amazing. Samsung Galaxy S8 with VR-level 4K display should make for a stellar visual experience.

The VR display is still in prototype stage although there are already expectations that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be the first device to throw on the display.

However, rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 (or Note 6) will be the one to debut the tech. But since the phablet is expected to be released in three months and the 4K VR display still in being tested, it might be ready for the Samsung Galaxy S8 instead.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 sequel was rumored to come with a foldable display. If Samsung finds a way to make this work on its 4K VR display, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have its display as its greatest asset.

With regards to the other specs and features of the upcoming flagship, it is said it will feature an iris scanner and will boast as much as 8 GB RAM, which is twice the amount majority of high-end smartphones offer.

Samsung Galaxy S8 will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 (830), the follow-up to the 820 chipset that should be more powerful and efficient.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to come out early next year.
