'Sleepy Hollow' season 4 air date, spoilers rumors: Ichabod and new partner to share 'important' connection

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 will be a complete departure from the previous runs of the series as it starts anew with new characters, a new location and new villains.

Nicole Beharie will no longer return to the show as Abbie Mills, the Second Witness and the partner of Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison), after sacrificing her life to defeat the Hidden One.

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 will basically be a reboot as it will see Ichabod moving out of the titular setting and into Washington, D.C. , where he will work with a new partner: Secret Service Agent Diana to be played by Janina Gavankar.

Diana, a former military officer and now a single mom, will often clash with Ichabod. They will start on the wrong foot as the two have different approaches in handling their missions.

However, they will soon find something in common as they learn more about each other in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4, ultimately allowing them to be an effective team.

Apart from Diana's love for her daughter, Ichabod will warm up to his new partner after learning how they share the same pain and experience losing a partner. Both of them would not want such tragedy to happen again.

However, the description for Diana's character also teases that the connection does not end there. "The two of them will quickly realize they have another important point of connection—though not one anyone would expect at first," it read.

It is unknown at the moment what this is all about, but fans will soon learn in "Sleepy Hollow" season 4. In addition, Ichabod will also meet a motley crew who will help him and Diana on their missions.

This means that there will be new additions to the cast, which the show would need as many of them followed Beharie's footsteps.

With regards to the release date, "Sleepy Hollow" season 4 will premiere next year on Fox.
