'Street Fighter 5' DLC release date news: New character to arrive later this month

When the fifth installment of the popular fighting video game series, "Street Fighter" was released in February this year, many fans were disappointed. The disappointment came after video game observers and series' fanatics noticed the game's lack of content. However, following the release of game updates, game developer Capcom has added two major characters in Alex and Guile. While fans expect a new DLC to come out in June, new reports suggest that the expansion will be delayed, which has left fans in dismay yet again.

The last two characters that were added to the game were released in March and April. Fans were supposed to get another one in May; however, that did not happen and a release in June appears to be unlikely as well.

According to a report by Polygon, Capcom announced on the game's official Twitter page that the new DLC pack is not going to arrive this month, citing unexpected issues. However, the company made it clear that the update will definitely be available next month, along with its cinematic story mode.

"We wanted to clear up the confusion around the release of Ibuki in #SFV. She will be released alongside Story Mode at the end of June," the company wrote on the game's official social media page.

Meanwhile, the trailer footage shown on the official YouTube page of the "Street Fighter" reveals the next character to be released. Ibuki will be added to the rooster, a fighter who debuted in the third installment of the series. The character has been a fan favorite since it was introduced. Her unique fighting ability mirrors that of a true ninja warrior.

For now, fans are hoping that Capcom will no longer delay the release of the update. Another release date setback is going to be pretty devastating for millions of "Street Fighter" fans all over the world.
