Popular heroine series "Supergirl" recently concluded its freshman run, and following the news of a possible cancellation due to a dip in ratings performance, the show found a new home in The CW.

Warner Brothers TV chief Peter Roth explained that the show's move to a new network will give it an opportunity of extending to more seasons in the future. "The move of Supergirl from CBS to The CW is an outstanding shift in every regard," Roth told The Hollywood Reporter. "The show's content is more appropriately positioned on The CW, and I believe it'll ensure an arguably longer run on the network. I think the sensibility of the show is better for our producers and what it is that they want to accomplish, and CBS was very good to us in enabling it to happen."

In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Ali Adler mentioned that the hunt for Jeremiah will be a priority next season. Everyone is well aware that he is out there, so they might look into that story arc in the future episodes. Kara's romantic life will also be explored in season 2, particularly after her unexpected kiss with James in the season 1 finale. Talks about the possible appearance of Superman have been around since the show premiered, and Adler hinted that there might be a possibility of the Man of Steel being a part of the cast. "It's always a conversation," the EP explained. "I'll come back to the answer that this is Supergirl's show, and it's her point of view. But he lives in our world, and at some point, we'd definitely like to meet him."

As of this writing, The CW has yet to announce an official premiere date for "Supergirl" season 2. However, the show will return sometime in fall, with the timeslot of Monday nights at 8:00 p.m.
