'Supernatural' season 12 spoilers, plot news: Sam's fate after fatal encounter with Toni Bevell revealed

Jared Padalecki as Sam and Jensen Ackles as Dean in "Supernatural" | The CW/Diyah Pera

Fans won't have to wait for "Supernatural" season 12 to learn the fate of Sam (Jared Padalecki) after that shocking season 12 finale.

Spoiler Alert! The following contains spoilers on "Supernatural" season 12 and 11. Proceed only those who want to know.

For a refresher, in "Supernatural" season 11, Sam was confronted by a woman by the name Lady Toni Bevell (Elizabeth Blackmore).

She is a member of a mysterious organization known as Men of Letters (believed to be the "Supernatural" season 12 big bad) who wish to capture Sam and his brother Dean (Jensen Ackles). The conflict ended with a gunshot.

When Toni pulled the trigger on Sam, he wasn't shown on screen, leading fans to worry about Sam's situation and whether or not the younger Winchester was shot.

Fans won't need to wonder about what really happened because Padalecki has revealed to TVLine the fate of his character prior to "Supernatural" season 12.

"She shot him," the actor revealed. "I don't know where, but I know she shot him," the actor continued to tease. Ackles quipped that this isn't new since Sam always gets himself injured.

Even though Sam was shot, it is very unlikely that he will meet his demise because of it. After all, he is one of the main characters in "Supernatural."

However, it remains a mystery and is very difficult to figure out what situation he will be in when "Supernatural" season 12 begins.

Meanwhile, apart from Sam's fate in "Supernatural" season 12, fans are also excited to learn what comes after the resurrection of the Winchester boys' dead mother Mary (Samantha Smith).

In another TVLine interview, Padalecki revealed that this could finally give Dean the closure he so badly wanted in "Supernatural" season 12.

However, the actor believes that the said closure might not be as big of a deal to Sam, who was so young when their mother was killed.

Despite this, Padalecki believes that his character's curiosity will want him to "get some answers," especially since he only knows Mama Winchester "a little bit."

"He's a thinker, he's an intellect. Part of him wants to have some sort of closure with his father, with his mother," Padalecki explained.

"Supernatural" season 12 premieres Thursday, Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
