'Teen Wolf' season 6 release date, spoilers news: Dylan O'Brien out of Beacon Hills? One Direction's Harry Styles being eyed for the series?

"Teen Wolf" season 6 might be due for a November airdate, but fans are worried that one of the main characters of MTV's supernatural series will not be returning to reprise his role.

In March, Dylan O'Brien, who plays Stiles Stilinski in the series, suffered a major accident while filming the third installment for the "The Maze Runner" movie franchise in Vancouver, Canada. He was performing a stunt for the shoot when the motorcycle he was driving went into a slide, causing O'Brien to fall to the ground.

The on-set injuries suffered by O'Brien prompted Fox to push the release date of "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" from February 2017 to January 2018 since production was halted, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Will viewers still be seeing Dylan O'Brien in the sixth season of "Teen Wolf," or will new faces be gracing the show? | Teen Wolf/Facebook

However, Movie News Guide has reported that O'Brien will be appearing in "Teen Wolf" season 6, specifically in the first two episodes. It's not clear yet whether the upcoming season will have 20 episodes, as the show enjoyed in season 5, and if viewers will be seeing more of Stiles in those episodes.

There have been speculations that another alum of the show, "Arrow's" Colton Haynes, who played Jackson Whittemore on the show, would be returning to breathe life into the character he played from 2011 to 2012. Nevertheless, after coming out as gay, the show's producer, Jeff Davis, feels that so much has already happened and they're not sure if Haynes would still fit in, given that "Teen Wolf" has gone on a totally different direction from when it piloted in 2011.

Davis recently sat down for an interview with Creative132 and he assured fans that O'Brien would be back on the show and would start filming soon. Apparently, they are in talks with the producer of "The Maze Runner," and they are hoping to get him back so he can commence shooting. However, according to Davis, O'Brien is "just not doing fine enough to do any stunts."

Asked to comment on the rumors that "Teen Wolf" is trying to lure One Direction's Harry Styles to join the show, he affirmed that there is truth to the rumors.

"No, they're not 100% fake. We do want Harry Styles in our show. Like a new British boy. But we're still in talks with people, directors, agents. So we can't confirm anything yet," he said.

If production goes smoothly, "Teen Wolf" season 6 could air earlier than expected, but Davis said further delays might move them to air season 6's first episode in November.
