'The Elder Scrolls 6' release date update: Latest sequel not coming out until next year?

Bethesda has not yet issued an official confirmation regarding the development of the much awaited "Elder Scrolls" sequel. Dubbed as "The Elder Scrolls 6," fans have speculated that the video game will be released as early as this year. Fans' speculation on the 2016 release date have been supported by the rumored appearance of the video game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 this coming June.

However, as much as the "Elder Scrolls" players are hyped about the new game, the latest reports also suggest that the latest sequel will not be released until 2017.

According to reports, Bethesda will be attending the E3 2016 next month as "The Elder Scrolls 6" is expected to be one of the video game projects that the company will showcase during the event.

However, the E3 appearance of "The Elder Scrolls 6" is not a guarantee that Bethesda will be able to release the game within the year. The rumors are rife that the video game will be released as early as 2017. It must be noted though that the previous releases of "Elder Scrolls" titles were done every four years.

For example, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" was released in 2011. Four years later, "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" was launched by Bethesda. In this case, the fans can expect the next "Elder Scrolls" sequel to arrive in 2019.

Bethesda has been busy for the past few months with their other game projects. This could be one of the reasons why the company has not started the production of "The Elder Scrolls 6."

Bethesda's Vice President for Public Relations and Marketing, Pete Hines, said that the public can still expect "The Elder Scrolls 6" in the future, although it cannot be released in earlier time table as the company has been concentrating on "Fallout 4," Neurogadget reported.
