The highly-anticipated video game "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" has officially gone gold.

As reported by WWG, the development team at Nintendo and Monolith have recently wrapped up production and have celebrated all their hard labor in creating the biggest "Legend of Zelda" game yet.

The news comes from Monolith Soft developer Yasuyuki Honne who shared on Twitter an image showcasing the "Breath of the Wild" team as they attend a wrap-party for the video game in Japan. The party was also attended by no less than Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto, celebrating the fact that the title is being sent off for manufacturing.

However, according to GameRant, although "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" has gone gold and has been greenlit to be manufactured, it does not necessarily mean that the development of the video game is completely finished. Similar to most game releases in recent years, the developers may still be working on a day one patch until the game is officially launched.

At present, Nintendo has yet to confirm if "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will get a day one update since it is also likely that Nintendo will be launching the game fully polished. Considering that "Breath of the Wild" is the last Wii U game, Nintendo may want to put out the best product as possible in order to properly send off and bid farewell to the gaming console.

In addition, the file size for "Breath of the Wild" weighs heavy at 13.4 GB, which is almost half of the hard drive capacity of the upcoming Nintendo Switch. Hence, the company may not want to force any additional data onto the consoles of gamers unless it is deemed irrefutably essential.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is scheduled for launch on March 3, 2017 for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U. Its launch date is set on the same day as that of the upcoming hybrid game console, Nintendo Switch.
